Javier Zabala

او پس از کسب مدرک دیپلم در زمینه دامپزشکی و قانون، تصمیم گرفت تحصیلاتش را در زمینه تصویرسازی و گرافیک دیزاین درOviedo مدرسه هنرهای مادرید ادامه دهد.
در سال1989 به مادرید نقل مکان کرد و به عنوان تصویرگر در زمینه های مختلفی مانند: مجله، تبلیغات، کارتون و... شروع به کار کرد. او هم اکنون با مهمترین ناشران اسپانیایی و بعضی از ناشران خارجی معتبرهمکاری میکند.
او تا کنون بیشتراز 70 کتاب را تصویرسازی کرده که حتی بعضی ازاین کتابها را خود او نوشته است. کتابهای او به 15 زبان ترجمه شده اند.
درسال 2000 از طرف وزارت فرهنگ اسپانیا برای شرکت در نمایشگاه مسافرتی که درآن آثار مهمترین تصویرگران اسپانیا در سراسر اروپا و امریکا نمایش داده میشود، به نامA todo color انتخاب شد.
در سال 2003 او در نمایشگاه بین المللی 21 تصویرگري کودک با نامLe Immagini Della Fantasia شرکت کرد.در آن موقعیت او برای کامل کردن کاتالوگ How an illustrated book is born برای کتابش با نام Barcellona، انتشار يافته توسط Bohem Press،انتخاب شد.از اين زمان به بعد او براي شركت در اين نمايشگاههاي بين المللي دعوت ميشد.
بعد از سال 2003 نيز از او دعوت شد تا در نمايشگاه بين الملليI colori del sacro درPadova ايتاليا شركت كند.
در سال 2005 جايزه بهترين كتاب داستاني را به خاطر كتابش با عنوان Pictogramas en la Historia de D.Quijote de la Mancha دريافت كرد. اين كتاب توسطSM در نمايشگاه بين المللي كتاب كودكBologna چاپ شده بود.

او براي نمايش كارهايش در نمايشگاه Ilustrisimos"" كه توسط وزارت فرهنگ براي معرفي اسپانيا در نمايشگاه بين المللي Bologna انتخاب شد.
در همان سال او جايزه بين المللي تصويرسازي سال 2005 را به خاطر كتابي با نامEl Soldadito Salomon كه توسطSM منتشر شده بود، دريافت كرد. اين مهمترين جايزه اي است كه به يك تصويرگر در اسپانيا اعطا شده.
در سال 2007 جايزهInternationale Jugendbiliotek, Munich) )The White Ravens را براي كتابش با نامLas Cosas perdidas كه توسط Edelvives منتشر شده، دريافت كرد.
در سال 2007، او در طول مدت برگزاري دومين نمايشگاه كتاب كودك مشغول تدريس واحدهاي تصويرسازي1+UNO در Leer leon"" اسپانيا بود.در اين واخد درسي از بين 120 كانديد، 35 تصويرگر حرفه ي از 7 كشور مختلف انتخاب شده بودند.
در سال 2008 براي دومين بار جايزه ويژه Bolognaragazzi، شعر كتاب كودك با نام Honourable Mention for Children Poetry براي كتابي تحت عنوانSantiago به او اعطا شد.اشعار اين كتاب اثرFederico Garcia Lorca بود كه توسطLibros del Zorro Rojo به چاپ رسيد.
2009. دريافت جايزه اول بهترين دسته كتاب كودك از El Banco del Libro de Venezuela براي كتابSin los Ojos با سرمقاله اي ازSM .
2009. فيناليست جايزه Junceda Iberia براي كتاب Bartleby, the scrivener"" نوشتهHerman Melvilla ، انتشارات Nordica Libros.
2009. برگزيده نمايشگاه و كاتالوگ دومين فستيوال كتاب مصورCJ كره.
2010. برگزيده نمايشگاه و كاتالوگ بينال بين المللي تصويرسازي در لیسبون پرتغال.
2010. منتخب در Honour List CCEI براي كتاب "El hombre que compro la ciudad de Estocolmo" نوشتهGianni Rodari ، انتشارات SM.
او به عنوان تصويرگر ماه در July 2010 توسط ZIZI, Illustrators Collectiveدر ايتاليا انتخاب شد.
2010. انجمن تصويرگران حرفه اي Catalonian Professional Illustrators Association (APIC) جايزه Junceda Iberia را براي "هملت" اثر ويليام شكسپير، انتشارات Nordica Libros به اواختصاص داد.
او معمولا با دانشگاههاي مختلف، دولتهاي منطقه آزاد، انجمنهاي شهر و... در ورک شاپ، كنفرانسها و ميزگردها همكاري مي كند.
او در كتابخانه هاي عمومي، مدارس هنر اروپا و آمريكاي لاتين درس وكنفرانس ارائه مي كند.
از سال 2006 او به عنوان معلم تصوير سازي در دوره هاي بين المللي تابستانه در دانشگاهMacerata و در كتابخانه هاي عمومی رم فعاليت مي كند.
از سال 2009 او در دانشگاه Macerata ايتاليا به مرتبه پروفسوري در تصويرسازي نائل شد.
مدرس دوره هاي پاييزي "مدرسه بين المللي تصويرسازي" در سارمادا ايتاليا.
مدرس دوره هاي تابستاني در كتابخانه Osita، قرار داد شده با مجلس Rome (ايتاليا).
سپتامبر 2008.دوره و كنفرانس در مدلین، كلمبيا.
2010+2009. دوره در Uruena,The village of the books, مجلس بخش Valladolid (اسپانيا).
نوامبر 2008. كنفرانس در نمايشگاه بين المللي كتاب (FIL) در Guadalajara، مكزيك.
2009. كنفرانس در كتابخانه اروپايي در رم (ايتاليا).
فوريه 2010. دوره آموزشي در, Mexico DF Espana en Mexico Centro Cultural de. دوره و ميزگرد در Puebla مكزيك.
2010.دوره ها وكنفرانس در پنجمين مسابقه داستانهاي كودك در Quite (اكوادور) سازمان يافته توسط انجمن فرهنگي Girandula.

Javier Zabala

(León, Spain 1962)

He started degrees in veterinary medicine and law, but he left them to study illustration and graphic design at the Oviedo and Madrid Schools of Art.

In 1989 he moved to Madrid. He worked as an illustrator in various fields: magazines, advertising, cartoons …. He currently works for the most important Spanish publishers and some of the most prestigious foreign ones.

He has illustrated more than 70 books, some of which he is also the writer. His books has been translated to 15 languages.

In 2000 he was selected by the Culture Spanish Ministry to take part in the travelling exhibition A todo color which showed the Works of the most important Spanish illustrators in Europe and America.

In 2003 he participates in the 21 Children Illustration Internacional Exhibition Le Immagini Della Fantasia. In that occasion he was selected to make the supplement of the catalogue How an illustrated book is born for his book “Barcellona” published by Bohem Press. Since then, he has usually been invited to take part in this international exhibition.

Since 2003, he has also been invited to participate in the Internacional Exhibitions I colori del Sacro in Padova (Italy)

In 2005 he received an “Honourable Mention for the Best Fiction Book” for his book “Pictogramas en la Historia de D. Quijote de la Mancha” published by SM, at the Bologna International Children´s Book Fair.

He was chosen to exhibit his work at the “Ilustrisimos” exhibition organised by the Ministry of Culture to represent Spain at the Bologna International Fair.

That same year, he won the 2005 Illustration National Award for “El Soldadito Salomón” published by SM. This is the most important prize given to an illustrator in Spain.

2007 The White Ravens Award (Internationale Jugendbibliotek, Munich) for the book “Las Cosas perdidas” published by Edelvives.

In 2007, he organises and teaches the Illustration Course 1+UNO during the 2nd Children´s Books Fair “Leer León” (Spain). 35 professional illustrators from 7 different countries were selected to participate in the course out of 120 candidates.

In 2008 he received his second Special BolognaRagazzi Award, an “Honourable Mention for Children Poetry” for his book “Santiago”, a poem by Federico García Lorca, published by Libros del Zorro Rojo.

2009. El Banco del Libro de Venezuela gave him the first price in the “Best children book category” for his book “Sin los Ojos” by Editorial SM.

2009. Finalist of the Junceda Iberia Award for “Bartleby, the scrivener” by Herman Melvilla, published by Nórdica Libros.

2009. Selected for the Exhibition and Catalogue in the 2nd Picture Book Festival CJ in Corea.

2010. Selected for the Exhibition and Catalogue of the Biennial Internacional Ilustration Ilustrarte in Lisbon, Portugal.

2010. Selected in the Honour List CCEI for “El hombre que compró la ciudad de Estocolmo” by Gianni Rodari published by SM.

He was selected as Illustrator of the month in July 2010 by ZIZI, Illustrators Collective, Italy.

2010. The Catalonian Professional Illustrators Association (APIC) awarded him the Junceda Iberia for “Hamlet” by William Shakespeare, published by Nórdica Libros.

He usually collaborates with various Universities , Autonomous Region Governments, City Councils… in workshops, lectures and round-tables.

He gives lessons and lectures in Public Libraries and Schools of Arts in Europe and LatinAmerica.

Since 2006, he is a teacher of Illustration in the Internacional Summer Courses at Macerata University and in the Rome Public Libraries. Since 2009 he is a professor of the Master in illustration, also in the University of Macerata, Italy.
